New album 'FAWN' Tracklist/Release Info

MM will self-release his new record, entitled 'fawn', September 8th, 2015.

MM’s new LP continues the personal direction of 2013’s 'Mild Maynyrd' through allegory and symbolism. In it he experiments with new recording, composing, and songwriting techniques free of limitation. It embraces the dichotomous in both narrative themes (paranoia/comfort, joy/fear) and sonic elements (loud/quiet, dissonance/consonance), and sees MM taking on several new instruments. It is earthly, cinematic, and wholly unique.

  1. faline (4:11)
  2. deadbolt (4:36)
  3. fawn doe rosa (4:52)
  4. dama dama (4:28)
  5. nightlake (4:39)
  6. the thicket (4:25)
  7. saestone (2:19)
  8. ofelia (4:35)
  9. the meadow (3:57)
  10. voyaguers (4:17)
The record will be available via WFMA's Free Music Archive, with ultra-DIY physicals up for minimal bucks on MM's Bandcamp (or, if you see him around town just ask for one out of his backpack).

More details to come... but for now check out 'fawn doe rosa' via MM's Soundcloud:

BLM vs DECAGRAM Live @ Hidden Door

The BLM guys are getting weird at the HIDDEN DOOR FESTIVAL!

On Monday, at Edinburgh's annual HIDDEN DOOR FESTIVAL, the BLACK LANTERN MUSIC gang take on the DECAGRAM crew in a musical fight to the last breath! Playing for Decagram on the night are Dead Boy Robotics, Featherwest, Miracle Strip, Small Feet Little Toes, and composer Atzi (Lipsync for a Lullaby). After that, BLM take over until 3am, with LIVE sets from Scottish rap kingpin Loki, doom-laden rap/grunge fusionistas düst (aka Texture, Asthmatic Astronaut & Ben Tokamak), one man protest movement Tickle, techno troubadour Ghost By Nature (aka Krowne) and bassbin-bothering free party titan Morphamish.

It promises to be an incredible evening, and the first live outing for most of the core BLM crew in some time... we hope you'll join us. While you're getting your glad rags on, why not have a listen to the sprawling 50-track megacompilation BLM100: BLM IS DEAD. The album celebrates the last few years of BLM releases, with tracks from albums and EPs released from BLM50 onwards, as well as a slew of new and exclusive tracks.

Future Music FM Mix

The guys enjoyed Mild Maynyrd’s guest mix for the Black Lantern Music show last year, they invited him back to guest host his own show.

Here he is, live and direct from the Twin Cities!

The show comes in two parts – a unique, all-vinyl turntablist mix from MM in the first half, with beats from FlyLo, Madlib, Dilla and El-P, and samples from Thelonious Monk, Sun ra and Steely Dan.

Then in the second half, MM picks some tunes that express the diverse musical palette of his Black Lantern albums, with songs from everyone from RJD2 to Fugazi, from BLM’s own Krowne and Loki to Slipknot.

This is Mild Maynard radio. Thanks for tuning in!
